Highlights Thanh Tien & Tien Non Village Excursion – Traditional Craft Discovery

From 7:00 Am to 1:00 PM, a private car and tour guide will pick you up at your hotel. You will start your exploration to Thanh Tien, Tien Non and Sinh Village within 4 to 5 hours.

Your journey begins by departing from the hotel and going to the Perfume River wharf. Prepare to embark on a Dragon Boat journey along the peaceful waters of the Perfume River, taking you to Tien Non Village. This is your time to enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of Hue, as you glide along the gentle waters and immerse yourself in the peaceful beauty of your surroundings.

Arriving at Tien Non wharf, you will embark on a journey to explore the villages by bicycle with your tour guide.

Tien Non Village

Tien Non Village is famed for its cultivation of flowers, particularly the daisies variety, which showcases a rich diversity with numerous types boasting various colors. During your cycling journey, you’ll encounter numerous flower gardens, each bursting with vibrant hues. Take to explore, and capture the picturesque scenes with your camera, you to be captivated by the simple yet stunning beauty of nature.

Continuing your journey, you will come to Thanh Tien Bougainvillea Village, 2.5 kilometers from Tien Non Village, about 10 to 15 minutes.

Thanh Tien Bougainvillea Village

In Thanh Tien Bougainvillea Village, the craft of making bougainvillea has existed for more than 300 years and is popular with locals as well as tourists. With creativity and skillful hands, the villagers have created countless types of paper flowers such as morning glory, wallflower, peony, lotus, etc.. These creations, whether simple or elaborate, have become beloved symbols of village art, attracting the attention of tourists. 

Here, artisans will help you learn the process of making handmade paper flowers and you can try making lotus flowers from paper, this is also one of the most beautiful flowers in this place, also the national flower of Vietnam.

After an hour of experience at Thanh Tien Bougainvillea Village, continue cycling to Sinh Village, about 1.5 kilometers away, about 5 to 10 minutes.

Sinh Village

Sinh Village holds a distinguished place in history for its enduring tradition of folk paintings, known as Sinh Village Paintings, more than 400 year old folk paintings. As you venture into this storied village, prepare to uncover the essence of woodblock painting, a craft passed down through generations. Learn the knowledge shared by Ky Huu Phuoc, the last artist who protected Lang Sinh’s artistic heritage.

Following that, you’ll have the opportunity to craft your very own distinctive artwork. Begin by applying black ink onto the woodblock, then use Do paper to transfer the image and allow the ink to set. Once dried, skilled artists will guide you in adding layers of vibrant colors to bring your creation to life.

After more than an hour of exploring and experiencing, you cycle back to the station and return to the starting point. A private car will pick you up at Perfume River wharf, then take you to the hotel.
