2. Things to do and see near Lang Co Bay

Lang Co Bay is located in Lang Co Town, which gives off the vibe of a quaint fishing village. Visitors to the beach will see the basket boats used by local fishermen to get to their boats anchored offshore. A local market in the middle of the village sells fresh seafood and seafood restaurants are popular in the area.

Lap An Lagoon, also known as An Cu Lagoon, is a beautiful lagoon with turquoise waters located on National Highway 1A. The lagoon is surrounded by the majestic Bach Ma mountain range and is especially beautiful at sunset.

Hai Van Pass is a famous pass in Vietnam that connects Da Nang and Hoi An with Hue via a spectacular coastal road. It has been named one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the World by Top Gear. Visitors can experience this route by motorbike (self-driving), as an easy rider (sitting on the back of a motorbike with a Vietnamese guide) or by jeep/car.

3. The best time to visit Lang Co Bay

The best time to visit Lang Co Bay is from April to September, during the dry season. The weather is perfect for beach tourism, although the temperatures can reach up 39 degrees Celsius. Swimming is a popular activity for both locals and tourists during this time.

From October to February, the monsoon season brings heavy rains to the Hue and Lang Co areas. However, the rain is intermittent and there can still be some nice weather without showers and high temperatures.

March and early April are considered a great time to visit, as temperatures range from 19 to 28 degrees Celsius and there is usually little rain. However, the water temperature is still cold, so there may not be many people swimming at the beach

Due to the mountains near the sea, Lang Co is often covered in mist in the morning. In the lake afternoon, white storks can be seen flying over the beach to Lap An Lagoon to roost, making this a picturesque spot to admire its beauty.

4. How to get there Lang Co Bay

From Da Nang to Lang Co, you can take a taxi from Da Nang airport to Lang Co. Taxi fares are usually metered, with fares around 450.000 VND, including tolls and airport exit fees.

From Hue to Lang Co Beach, about 70km away. You can also rent a motorbike to travel to Lang Co by yourself or book a tour with a private car with a driver to pick you up.

For those adventurous souls, motorbike rental is an option, ranging from 100,000 VND to 150,000 VND per day. Yet, navigating Vietnam’s bustling traffic demands expertise. Ensure you’re accompanied on longer journeys for added safety.

5. Train

Lang Co has its train station called Lang Co train station (Ga Lăng Cô). The train ride from Da Nang to Lang Co takes 2 hours and offers spectacular views of the Hai Van Pass. The train from Hue to Lang Co takes 2 hours and 45 minutes.

5. What to eat at Lang Co Bay

Seafood in Lang Co Bay is of high quality and abundant, locally farmed and caught. Along the way, especially at the foot of Lang Co slopes, you can find small restaurants serving fresh seafood dishes. A hearty seafood porridge for breakfast starts at 25.000 VND (1.06$), while a full lunch costs around 200.000 – 300.000 VND/per person. Popular seafood dishes in the area include oysters, shrimp, squid and abalone. Some popular restaurants to try are Viet Long Floating restaurant, Minh Tam Restaurant, Be Than Restaurant,… Alternatively, visitors can choose for a floating raft on Lap An Lagoon.
